Over the span of 10 plus years, a group of patients, their family members, health care providers, dedicated software architects and programmers, Washington State Healthcare Authority, and friends at Microsoft worked together to develop a Share Care Plan--much more than a personal medical record.
# Going Forward We will be collecting ideas and discussing challenges as we create an OpenSource personal health and well-being record that can be shared with anyone you like but will have all the **security** you need.
Here we will explore the possibility of recreating the functionality in an open source platform, based on the Federated Wiki. We will explore leading edge technologies that were not in existence when the original Shared Care Plan was created.
New plug-ins and new tools will be created for **securely sharing data** into and out of and between shared care plans.
One cool thing about the Federated Wiki platform is that anyone can create tools and content that a private user can import safely into their FW Shared Care Plan 2.0.
